Our journey to this current expression of church and our connections has taken place over a long period of time. In fact, we first existed in Basingstoke as a Baptist church around the turn of 20th century.

Basingstoke Community Churches emerged out of the growth of this one church through the charismatic movement in the 1960s and 1970s as a strategy for reaching the developing housing areas around Basingstoke. This remained the model for a number of decades.

However, in 2017 we had a review of our overall strategy and approach and from this we merged three churches to form the new Hub Community Church. These were the existing South, North and East churches. The desire was to combine resources so that more attention could be directed to mission.

This is a new and exciting part of the journey. For more historic details, do check out the CCC website.

We passionately believe in being part of, and working with other churches. We do this in a number of ways:

We are part of Community Churches Connected (formely Basingstoke Community Churches), a single church family with common oversight, a shared vision and a single charitable status. BCC’s has a number of churches around the town, including Hope Community Church, LifeSpring Community Church, and Community Church Tadley. Its shared history and common desire to reach, support and bless the areas in which it meets helps maintain its unity and purpose.

Our primary connection is within a network of churches known as Forge. Forge covers the south of the UK, and seeks to support each other in developing leadership, strengthening our churches and doing mission together.

We are part of the local OneChurch network in Basingstoke, that connects local believers and seeks to represent the body of Christ in wider town activities.

We are a Welcome Church. Welcome Churches Vision is that no refugee should be on their own and for every refugee to be welcomed by the local church.
